jjovember 17, 1967 THE CLARION PAGE THREE tT'-iT' Green Domitory Is A Center Of Action By Wally Smith The above picture is of Green Dormitory, located on the far end of the campus. The pur pose of the picture and this story is to acquaint the stud ents with Green Hall in case they have never seen it before, which is a possibility because Green Hall is never in any pub lications put out by the college. Green Hall is now in the midst of an industrial and eco nomic revolution conducted by its capable team of officers. The head of the brainwork, Dave Cooke as president, the energetic Dave Fussell as vice- president, and the on-the-ball secretary - treasurer, Wally Smith, are combining forces and slowly pulling Green Hall out of its age - old depression of dreary halls, blah recreation rooms, and years of debt. Green Hall is now confronted with the prospects of a rebuilt and refurnished recreation room and the possibility of a color television and new ping- pong table. Let it be known, however,. that none of this ■would ever be possible without the relentless help of the dorm director Mrs. Walker. Besides all of this, Green Hall is just full of extraordi nary personalities. Green Hall basement, as you probably know, houses the majority of the track and cross country team and it is the most discip lined and quietest hall in the dorm, next to third floor, that is. The first floor stars include two more trackmen — Bob Julian, and Ned Jones, two officers — Wally Smith and Dave Cooke, and funloving Dav ie Marvin and Harold Hearne with his unicyle. Moving up to second floor you will find another track man, Roger Jones, and veterans Dave Shelor and Yoshi Taka- hashi. Third floor, home of Radio Free Brevard, got off on a bad foot at the start of the year, but Bob Gray as hall proctor and Steve Sellman as head of Housekeeping have kept the boys in line. Many people find Green Hall an interesting place to visit, es pecially those who are in Beam but roomed in Green last year. At least once a day Gary Arm- Movie To Be Shown On Sat. Night Saturday night, “The Cardi nal” will be shown in Dunham Auditorium at 8;00. “The Car dinal” is a delicate master piece that spans two vibrant decades and two beautiful con tinents in tracing the complex life of a young Irish - Ameri can from his ordination as a priest to his ordination as a cardinal. Through the long, hard years just after his first as signment in America, through his desparing wanderings over Europe in search of a new life and his return to the cloth, we see Father Stephen Fermoyle grow from a man who easily learned the rules of the church but little else, to a mature un derstanding priest. Although the inner conflicts of the man himself are a key theme they serve also to contrast the much larger conflicts in the world around him. The colorful pomp and circumstance of the Cath olic Liturgy is offset by Hit ler’s atrocious invasion of Aus tria, and by the bitter conse quences of segregation in our own country! A complex and intelligent story told in no- compromise terms, “The Cardi nal” will enthrall people of all ages and groups. Starring in “The Cardinal” are Tom Tyron, Romy Schneider, Carol Lynley, and Burgess Meredith. S-T-R-E-T-C-H!
