Tosca’s Telling Wilde Tales Stuns Audience
by Lorrin Wolf

The spring production of Jules
Tosca’s “Telling Wilde Tales,” directed
by Robert A. White, ran from April IS
IS and 22-24 in the Bam Theater. The
play consisted of seven short stories that
each contained a moral, including “The
Star Child” and “The Nightingale and
the Rose.”
The ensemble cast included Geoff
Green, Jonathan Mabry, Tim Reese,
Dayna Ritter, Mindy Ruch, John
Runberg, Royce Sellers, David Sims,
Julie Solomon, Robert White, and Amy
Wright. Each cast member performed
many roles, often in the same tale.
The ensemble wore story-tellers’
robes accented with different stoles.
Character changes were made obvious in
the script because the characters had no
costume or make-up identification.
The set consisted of stairs, two
benches, and four platforms all painted
black and white. The walls of the Bam
Theater stunned audiences with their
black and white geometric shapes.

If you live in the city of Brevard or
attend Brevard College, and you own a
skateboard, you might as well put it up
in storage. Both have outlawed
skjttejtoarding. ,.
: • According to Brevard College Dean
of Students Norman Witek, this is based
on a liability standpoint. Brevard
College has had problems in the past
with kids coming on campus and
skateboarding down the hills, off the
steps of the library, and in front of
administration building.
The college checked with their
insurance company, and was told that
there was a high-risk factor and it was
best for them to ban the usage of
skateboards. The college talked about
constructing a building where kids as
well as students could skateboard, but
the insurance company did not go for it.
Although this is a fun, recreational
sport, students have to understand the
liability that is involved. A few years
back a student was skateboarding in the
lobby of the old Student Union building
and shattered a huge glass window.
From that moment on, Brevard College
knew they had to enforce this law.
Students who are caught skateboarding
will receive a fair warning, but if the
problem seems to prolong, necessary
actions will be taken.

William Stanback.
The next production, a dramatic

from April 30 to May 1 at 8 p.m. The
play stars Rita Colbert and Sam Cope.
