Students perform internships on Capitol Hill

While most students headed
south for Spring Break on the
beach, five students from Dr
Lisa Jordan’s Economics 301
class headed north to perform
one-week internships in
Washington D.C.
The trip, which was
coordinated by Jordan and the
AFL-CIO, placed each of the
students in different internship
settings, with students earning
one hour of internship credit
for their week’s work.
When not working, the
students were able to take in
the sights, as the group toured
the Capitol, the Roosevelt
Memorial, and the National
Museum of the American
Indian.
“This was a good
experience,” Jordan said.
“My intention in them going
on this trip was for them to get
a grasp of the complexity of
how Washington works,
particularly how that relates to
