Page o Tuesday, September 2, 2003 Jhe Campus Life Cooking: a lost art Lip Sync several suggestions for cooking on a tight budget with little time Emily Killian Pilot Co-Editor For many college students, cooking is a lost art. Because of busy schedules and miniscule budgets, many students don’t cook. But these easy and cheap recipes should fit right into any college budget and time schedule. Most take less than 20 minutes to prepare and cook. Cinnamon Sugar Breakfast Sticks Needed Materials: Metal baking pan Ingredients: Canned Biscuits, Sugar, Margarine, Cinnamon Pull apart biscuits and roll out until each is a long stick. Spread a little margarine on each stick, ■feprinkle sugar and cinnamon on top of the mar garine. Bake using instructions on biscuit carton. Quick Wraps Needed Materials: Metal baking pan Ingredients: Canned biscuits. Cheese, Ham lunch meat Pull apart biscuits and flatten. Place ham and cheese on half of flattened biscuit. Fold the bis cuit over into a pocket around the ham and cheese. Bake according to biscuit carton direc tions. Biscuit Pizza Minis Needed Materials: Metal baking pan Ingredients: Flaky canned biscuits, spaghetti sauce, cheese, other pizza toppings Pull apart layers of biscuits so that each bis cuit is split into three horizontal layers (each layer is 1/3 of biscuit). Spread spaghetti sauce onto each 1/3 biscuit. Add cheese and other top pings and bake until cheese melts and biscuit "crust" is golden brown. m.
