The Educational Policy Com
mittee has been active in the
past few weeks outlining cur
riculum and catalogue changes
for the upcoming year. Among
new courses to be offered is a
one semester elective for
freshmen intitled “Man in Mo
dern Society"’, a two semester
core math course recommended
for Social Science and Hu
manities majors, an expanded
two year version of “The His
tory of Religions”, “UrbanPo
litics’, “Marxian Political
Analysis”, a Joint Language
and Literature/Religion and
Philosophy course entitled “Li
terary Interpretation”, “Afro-
American Literature”, “Intro
duction to the Theatre ’, “Afri
can Political Processes’', and
many new courses in the areas
of Business Administration,
Economics and History. As
well, a proposed major in
American Studies is being
studied by the committee.
Poets Published
Jeff Alheim, Waverly Land,
Arnold Edgerton, Craig Smith
Kemp Gregory, Todd Davis and
Elaine Johnson, as well as for
mer St. Andrews student Gayle
Baldwin will have poems in
cluded in "Human Voice Quar
terly #25” (May, 1970), ac
cording to D. V. Smith, Pub
lisher. In addition recent work
of Mrs. Johnson will appear in
“Southern Poetry Review.
This literary action will fol
low closely the St. Andrews
issue of “South & West” quar
terly, due in April.
Gregory, Alheim, and Nancy
Fulcher will appear in HVQ
#26 (July, 1970).
