^ Thursday, April 16,1981 Track Races On BY MARK DRINNON The track team of St. Aniews finished second to Francis Marion in a four- team track met held here last Saturday. Leading the way for the Knights were Bad Mike Breeden and Jackie Amos, each scoring 16 points. Breeden continued his spectacular performance in the sprints and jumping events, scoring in four. He won the 100-yard dash with a time of 10.89 seconds, ex traordinary considering it was run with no blocks. He also claimed second in the triple jump with a leap of 40’10”, and third in the long jump with 19’2”. Amos won the high jump with 6’2” and captured second in the 100 yard dash, with a time of 10.98 seconds and the long jump, with a leap of 19’11%”. Other big scorers for the Knights were Steve Rogers, who won the pole vault with a height of 11’6” and third in the 400 meter hurdles, and David Kennedy, who came in second in the 200 meter dash and third in the 100 meter dash. Terry Morgan finished second in the pole vault, while George Calhoun took fourth in the discus. In the running events, Corey Ingold nabbed fourth in the 800 meter nm, as did Steve Dixon in the 1500 meter run. Jim Smith and Steve Dixon finished third and fourth in the 500 meter run. The Knights took second in the 400 meter relay and the 1600 meter relay. The team scoring was: Francis Marion-74, St. An- drews-54%, Methodist-43, North Carolina Wesleyan-SMs. This meet hurt the Knights in that Mike Breeden, a team leader, irritated a hamstring and will sit out the next meet.
