Knights Atheletics “I do not agree with what you have to say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it.” - Voltaire 7 allowed us to accomplish more early in the season. I have also seen some pretty large improvements over the course of the season. I think it took a little while for our team to learn how to win matches, as opposed to not losing them. I also saw a change when we started to believe in ourselves and realized that we were a good team. At that point, we came closer to reaching our potential.” Jessica Bewley has seen the volleyball programgrowoverthelast four years. “I’ve had the opportunity to experience two totally different coaches from completely different backgrounds. Both coaches have different coaching techniques,” stated Bewley. “It was difficult learning one thing my freshman and sophomore year and then have to turn around and learn something completely different. At first, I didn’t want to listen because I was so stuck on what I had previously learned. But once I realized that the new coach was going to stick around for a while, I thought I would give the new coaching style a go and realized that both styles worked just as well.” (Conrinued from page 1) As Bewley has seen the team grow, she has seen the continued support from the St. Andrews community. “As a senior. I’ve come to find that St. Andrews faculty, staff, students and the surrounding community has been very supportive of our team Whether the season was a winning season or a poor season, our fans were dedicated to coming to as many matches as possible. I only hope that in fiature years, the tradition of attending volleyball games remains as is.” Dan Kreiger has also seen the impact that the St. Andrews community has had in supporting the volleyball team. “I would like to thank the St. Andrews community for the amazing amount of support they have given our program in my two years here. We truly appreciate each one of you who cheer us on every night.” (2006 Volleyball Team. Picture Courwsy of RonneyCoffman) (Galina going for the kill.
