Survey Taken By News Argos Staff It has become almost trad itional for students to com plain about the food service here in our dining hall. Perhaps because of the change from Mama’s home cooked meals to institution al food services who don’t add all the love that Mom does, and perhaps because it really is bad. Most students keep a supply of goodies on hand in case of the midnight munchies. It’s a long time between dinner and bedtime or bre akfast. Some can afford to eat out (it must be nice). However, for us who are on a budget, here is a compar ative list of common items and their prices at each location. ROTC Spaces Still Available By 'News Argns Staff “Freshmen week is usual ly so hectic that it’s a wonder that students man age to get signed up for their classes.” That ’s the way one professor at Winston-Salem State Uni versity summed up the busy, early days of the new students. Major Floyd. Griffin, ROTC Coordinator at WSSU agrees. “The stu dents are so busy finding out about classes, meeting each other, attending orien tation sessions, and going to the numerous social fun ctions that we aren’t sur prised that many of them don’t get curious about Army ROTC until a few months later.” That, acording to Major Griffin, is one of the rea sons the local Army ROTC unit has a mid-term enroll ment program. “By that time,” Major Griffin said, “the students have had an opportunity to observe ROTC in action on the campus: to meet some of the cadets; and, to decide whether they would like to enroll.” So far, 160 have pre-regis- tered in Army ROTC at mid-term and others have expressed interest in the program. “One of the most important things about the mid-term enrollment pro cess,” Major Griffin added, “is that it keeps the doors open for students who just don’t have the time in the early days of student life to find out about us, even though we stay very visible. In other words, it isn’t too late and they still have the opportunity to enroll in Army ROTC.” A 236.2-inch refracting telescope, the world's largest, can pick up a flickering candle at 15,000 miles.
