The Entertainment Staff of The News Argus presents reviews of three movies that you should be sure to see during the holidays. The movies include Spike Lee’s controversial Malcolm X; the zany and hilarious comedy Home Alone 2; and the action packed Passenger 57. No ordinary man, No ordinary movie, Malcolm X is based on the life of Malcom Little, who is better known as Malcolm X. Malcolm was sent to jail for bugulary and that’s when his life did a 360 degree turn . He turned his life By Connell Cuthbertson Staff Reporter over to the Nation of Islam and became an advocate for black unity and black power. Malcolm X is a must see movie for people who have lost their way or if they are concerned about the black race. In “Home Alone 2 : Lost In New York”, Macaulay Culkin returns as Kevin McCallister, who this time wanders onto the wrong plane and winds up in New York City, where he checks into the Plaza Hotel. Home Alone 2 duplicates, the original Home Alone, because Kevin has to again fight off burglars (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern). How did the burglars get to New York? They escaped from prison! Just as before, this movie is full of slapstick humor. A word of caution, many people may think it contains too much violence for young viewers. In “Passenger 57 “ Wesley Snipes stars as John Cutter, a terrorism and highjacking expert who happens to be aboard the same plane as a terrorist highjacker played by Bruce Payne. Snipes who is passenger 57, single- handly is out to get the bad guy. Senior Football Players Look Ahead To The Future t 1 1 . \ 7! ^ 4-i=kfTAttinO By Kelley Goodman Staff Writer Well the 1992 football season has CO Tie to an end! The Pirates of Hampton University are the new CIAA champions. The dreams of winning three consecutive championships have crumbled, but the hearts of the seniors on the Ram Football team remain intact. A Senior on any athletic team knows that each game brings him or her closer to that final game, and to the end of an era of doing something that they have loved since childhood. I talked to a few of my fellow teammates to find out about their feelings and attitudes as they finished their collegiate football careers. Captain Terrence Graves said that he has mixed feelings about the end of this years season. Graves, a Senior, stated that, “The season was very long and trying, but I have no regrets about losing the CIAA Championship this year because I have two back-to- back championship rings from 90- 91.” Graves was a first-team All- CIAA selection this year at defensive back. Tony Gunther, a Senior defensive back, feels the same way. However, he was injured and missed five games during the season. Gunther also feels that this year’s freshmen held their own in the heat of some of the toughest games we played. ‘We could have quit after we played A&T, but we didn’t. We came back the next week and beat Virginia State. We were faced with the same situations when we lost to Southern, Wofford, and Hampton. Again, we came back," he said. "This competitive spirit goes to show the type of class that this program has,” he explained. Graves said that, “I now feel that disappointed about not getting a championship ring this year because he wanted to complete the puzzle of his football career at WSSU. His advice to the younger players is to strive for being the best, and not to settle for anything short of number one. “If the team improves its the team has a perspective on how it performance strength and deepens its feels to lose a championship. We have always been accustomed to winning, but now we have felt the other side and we have found out that we can deal with that as winner’s also.” Senior Captain Tim Pittman, who was also selected first team All- CIAA at linebacker, felt that the season was full of up’s and down s but ended on a good note. Pittman also stated that he was 1 I a I m i Captain Terrence Graves said played A& i, out we aian i. wc cau.c x ^ to COLLEGE REP WANTED work 5-15 hours per week on campus starting this term.
