10 The Pen making use of glass as a cainouflag- iiig agent, bccause ft is liglit in weiglit, doesn’t decay, and is un affected by fresh or salt water, and will not burn. Fine, flexible glass fibers thinner than a human hair, are being used as the covering or garnishing for the metal-mesh camouflage nets which are used to hide strategic war-production plants and other possible bombing objec tives from enemy raiders. The fib ers can be painted as often as pos sible to keep the camouflage design in harmony with seasonal changes in the surrounding countryside. The glass fibers are spread over chicken- wire which is used as a net. Since the combination of metal and glass is incombustible, the nets cannot be destroyed by incendiary bombs.
