October/November 1988...T1ie Pen_Page 9 Funny Bone By Tara Henry Sophomore, Business Major Have you heard the one about the protes- tant, the holiness, and the stutterer who were all selling Bibles for the Bible Study Group? Weil, when they went to report how many Bibles they had sold, the protestant said, “I only sold 4.” The study group said, “Well, we know you can do better than that. Try to sell some more.” Then the holiness reported that he sold 40. Ilie group applauded him and said “Keep up the good work! ’’ Then they asked the stutterer, “How many did you sell?” The stutterer replied, “Fo-fo four hun dred.” Someone replied, “You mean 40, don’t you?” The stutterer denied it saying, “N-no, fo- four hun-hundred.” The people were amazed and asked him, “How did you do it?” He answered them, “I kn-knocked on the d-do-door and I s-sa- said, ‘B-buy a B-Bible or I-I-ll read it to you.” Equations Puzzle Directions: Think of a word or phrase that corresponds to the number on the left of the equation, and write your answer on the line. a. b. c. d. e. f. g- h. i. 13 = U.N 7 = C. of the R 9 = D.ofS.A.C.C. 8 = G.0.P. onS.A.Y.. 16 = O. in a P 50 = S. on a A.F 10 = C. in the B 60 = M. in an H. 2 = H. on a C. or a W.. 20 = C. in a P Answers in the nest issue.
