The student body approved the recommendation of Betty Anderson, Editor of the newspaper , Albert Boone, Editor of the Handbook, and Jack Price, Chairman of the Annual Staff. Jack said, "The present aims of the annual staff are to collect the history and to record the pro gress of Wesleyan College. This is to be done by taking pictures of campus activities and recording social events. The long-range aim is to edit the yearbook, probably next year.*' The Handbook Committee under Albert Boone is studying handbooks from various colleges and securing bids in order to devise a plan for our handbook which it plans to publish this year. It may unify the college's morale and spirit. It encourages desir able college enterprises. It presents to the public exactly what the college is doing; there by directly influencing public opinion. Perhaps the most impor tant duty of a newspaper is that it serve as a medium for the expression of student opinion. It is the intention of the staff to publish a newspaper at least every other week, one of this kind until we feel we can have one printed. We hope that the college community will feel free to write letters to the editor and will offer whatever suggestions it may have regarding the publication of its college newspaper. The newspaper staff is asking the students, faculty, and staff of North Carolina Wesleyan CcUege to submit ideas for the name of its paper. The ideas may be turned in to the publications room by January 12. From these suggestions, the newspaper staff will choose a few and then ask the student body to vote on one of them.
