December 16, I960 North Carolina Wesleyan page 4 It's rumored that Rev. Jim Bailey, instructor of religion, Dr. C. Edwin Harwood, professor of English, and President Thomas A. Collins have hidden their golf clubs, since the girls’ physical education classes finished eight weeks of golf instruction.^ In cluded in the course under' coach Raymond Bauer, there was a trip to Green Hills Country Club, where the girls had a chance to use their skill. The girls' have now retreated indoors to take dance lessons under the direction of Miss Karen Magnuson, teacher of dance at the Rocky Mount Art Center. Their study of dance includes classical ballet and modern, interpretative dance. Marshall Pridgen, chairman of the Interfaith Council, quotes the nain purpose of the council as being: "We are trying to inte grate the religious atmosphere into the campus life." The council was organized by the Student Government to bring together all the denominations of the school to function as one working unit. As a unit they will vrork on chapel programs and school activities. This council is composed of Rev. Marshall Pridgen, chairman, Ronnie Carter, George Marshall, Brenda Rose, Brenda Robinson, and Dr. Willard Gatewood, faculty ad viser. Dr. Jack Moore, Dean, be came the first, undisputed, cham pion of the horseshoe tournament at Wesleyan College. Dean Moore started and finished at the top of the ladder and for his victory he received a trophy in assembly December 9. Mr. Raymond Bauer, physical education professor, was in second place on the ladder. Wayne Cooper won a hard fought third place. Wayne was the only Wesleyan student to finish within the top five. Six faculty mem bers and twelve students partici pated in the tournament. Wesleyan College saw its first ,sign of football this fall when Coach Raymond Bauer organi-zed three intramural tag football teams. The three teams were named Red, White, and Blue. The white team was undefeated in four games and became the first cham pion football team at Wesleyan, Members of the team were: John Baker, Francis Eason, Bill Gar- low, Omar Hamad, Bobby Hayes, Larry Matthews, and Bill McDonaldo The Red and Blue teams ended with tied scores. When the intramural tag foot ball schedule was completed. Coach Bauer organized three new teams. These teams were the Un touchables, Benvenue Bunch and the Senior High Boys, These three teams are now in a three way tie for first place.
