PAGE FOUR THE DECREE AL51LJ1' 1969j !\CW Bus Wrecks Lric Krohne, driving the Wesleyan Volkswagen school bus on the regu larly scheduled 6:45 p.m. run to Rocky Mount on Saturday, March 29, was involved in a two-vehicle collision at the inter section of N, C. 97 and U. S. 301 Business near the Rocky Mount Muni cipal Airport, The other driver was Jimmy Bry ant of Battleboroo Thrown from the bus in the collision, he lost consciousness. Eric was given aid by Wesleyan students John Roberts and Tom Snyder, who were following the bus. Stoney Creek Rescue Squad took Eric to Rocky Mount’s Parkview Hos pital, where, after a de lay in order to contact school doctors, treat ment was given him. Dean Wilde and Dr, James came to the hospital to confer with police re presentatives. DR. DAVIS SPEAKS DR, JOHN DAVIS Neither driver was charged. The bus sustained over $800,00’s damage. I HEAR THE WAYFARERS' Dr. John Davis, Wes- leyan’s composer-in-re- sidence, spoke yesterday at the annual Honors A- wards Convocation. His subject was student goals and reasons for achieve ment. He emphasized ex- tra-curricular as well as curricular goals for stu dents, encouraging and urging for all students in volvement in campus and community activities. Dr, Davis directs the Wesleyan Chamber Sing ers and devised the mus ical effects for Wesleyan College Theatre’s recent production of “The Cru cible.” He wrote a one- act play, “Thursday Fri day Afternoon,” which was produced here in last BY ED SMITH year’s bill of one-acts, and has to his credit the composition of an o- peretta, many religious works, and the “Middle Earth Suite,” premiered in Wilson, N . C„, last fall. At the Honors Awards Convocations, Dean Wilde presented 16 awards to students or organizations for outstanding achieve ment in varied field of en deavor.
