VolUME XIX, NUMbER 6 Sigma Pi By: Jeremy Morris The North Carolina Wesleyan College branch of Sigma Pi went to their annual conference in St. Louis Missouri on Feb. 6-8, where members got the chance to meet other members from chapters all across our nation and Canada. The president, Jeremy Morris, and Treasurer, Mike Cisero attended the conference. Also attending was Sigma Pi’s new Chapter Director, Mel Oliver. Mel Oliver is a professor of finance at NCWC and attended Wake Forest University where he received his B.B.A and University of Pennsylvania where he received his M.B.A. At the conference, the three men learned a valuable lesson about leadership, trust, and brotherhood. We strive to push our brothers to succeed in the classroom as well as in the fraternity. Sigma Pi is currently under their RUSH period, and opens their door to all who are interested in becoming a Sigma Pi. They have a full schedule of events during spring fling, various charity fundraising, car washes, and other events. We would like to thank our Greek Advisor, Brad Wingo, for all his support. We, also, would like to extend a special thanks and welcome to Mel Oliver for accepting the role as Chapter Director for the group. If you have any questions concerning membership, feel free to talk to any member of Sigma PI, Brad Wingo or Mel Oliver. E-mail: Mel Oliver at moliver@mail. ncwc.edu. Brad Wingo at blwinao@ncwc.edu. or Jeremy Morris at im160429@mail.ncwc. edu. On the way to My Alpha Phi Sigma By: Wanda Clark In the past year. Alpha Phi Sigma has participated in a number of activities which have allowed us to become more involved in our community. Such activities include: sponsoring the Moot Court at the NCWC chapel, contributing to the Adopt- A-Family program, which is run by My Sister’s House in Nashville, NC, and taking part in the Toys for Tots clothing drive. We, also, sponsored a canned food drive, adopted a highway through the Adopt-a-Highway program, and sponsored a car wash to raise money to purchase gifts for two needy families. The organization was started up again two years ago and has been running strong ever since. We have worked so hard to make Alpha Phi Sigma one of the most active organizations on campus. Sisters House We plan to host the Moot Court again this year, and you can expect a whole new program. We look forward to seeing you there, but come early, because if last year’s success is any indication, we anticipate a standing room only crowd.
