Ollie Furr and Annie Black stand, before the table at the dinner given in their honor recently when they were retired. Mrs. Furr had been in the Looping and Seaming Department of Plant #7 since 1931 and Mrs. Black had been employed since 1932. Mrs. Furr says she plans to do some housekeeping with her husband, Carl, who is in the Finishing Department. Mrs. Black has purchased a home with a little acreage on the Old Thomas- ville Road where she plans to garden flowers and vegetables. She also ex pects to have some chickens to pro vide her breakfasts. Little League Baseball practice will begin Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the high school field. Coaches Luke Jones and Carlos Auman are ex pecting a big turn out of boys from ages eight to twelve. If enough play ers come out, there will again be two teams playing under the Adams-Millis - 1 banner. Last year, only one team was entered in the Little Industrial League. Any son, grandson, or brother of employees of Adams-Millis is eligible to play on the teams. Those employees who have a son, grandson or brother who wishes to play in the league should get an entry blank ftom their supervisors. Entry blanks can also be obtained from Coaches Jones and Auman. Play will begin soon after school is out. Last year, Adams-Millis won the regular season and play-off championships. Regular season games were played at Harvell Park; it is planned to play there again this.summer. Leo Griffin will manage the 1962 Adams-Millis Softball Team, succeed ing Joe Smith, Manager of the Year for 1961. Griffin has been on the team for several years and is familiar with all the players. Griffin points out that it is not too late for employees of Adams-Millis to sign up for the team. Practice has started but no one has been assured of positions on the team. Those who have not been out for practice should con tact Griffin to determine the time and place of practice sessions. Already out for the team are: Douglas Streetman, Robert Breeden, Jack Dorn, Raeford Davis, G. B. Alexander, Cyrus Dockery, Dennis Carter, Jerry Smith, Jerry Webb, Darrell W. McDonald, Jesse Jones, Bill Hayworth, Wayne Lewis, Mickey Carter, Garry Jarrett, Johnny Col lins, Ballard Shatley, Monroe Pendry, Bobby Stanly, all of Adams-Millis, and Bill Thompson and Cletus Combs of MAC Panel. :(i « l«i « « A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lineberry on March 25, 1962. Mrs. Lineberry (Rachel) is a seamer at Plant #4.
