Die Casting Operator Of The Month From some time around mid night until the wee hours of the morn ing, there are a handful of men who keep the wheels turning at Southern Die Casting. One of this handful is Emmett Murphy, third-shift die cast ing operator. Emmett Murphy Even though it might stand to reason that an operator's energywould be waning with the approaching early morning hours, Emmett's production record indicates that such is not the case with him. His alertness, depend ability, attitude, high standard of pro duction and maintenance of his machine are only a few of the reasons that he is proudly being chosen "Die Casting Operator of The Month. " Emmett came to work with South ern Die Casting on August 6, 1962, and since that time has proven himself more than capable of mastering a die eating machine with his physical, mental and moral force. Born on August 29, 1932, Emmett is married and resides with his wife and two daughters at 1414 Trinity Avenue in High Point. A son, Gregory Mark, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Nunn on November 14, 1962. Mrs. Nunn (Geraldine) is an instructor in seam ing in Plant # 1. A daughter, Lisa Carol, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Steve Caughron on November 4, 1962. Mrs. Caughron (Frankie) is employed in the Finishing Department of Plant #1, - 7 VACATION NOTICE According to the terms of our vacation plan, we designate the week beginning Monday, December 23, 1962, as vacation week. If work is neces sary in your department during the vacation week, we will call for volun teers. If you are offered work during vacation week and you do not wish to work, your job will not be affected. You will, of course, be paid your reg ular wages for any work performed during vacation week. Our plants will close on Friday night, December 21, 1962, and will resume operations on Wednesday morning, January 2, 1963. Christmas vacation pay checks will be delivered on Friday, Decem ber 14, 1962. We wish for all our employees and their families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! J. H. A son, Anthony, was born to Mr. and Mrs. George Harris on October 2, 1962. Mrs. Harris (Anna) is a seamer in Plant #1. A daughter, Sheila Andrea, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wil liams on November 7, 1962. Mrs. Williams (Shirley) is employed in the Finishing Department of Plant #1. A son, Harold Anthony, was born to Mr. and Mrs. J. Howard Vernon recently. Howard is first shift super visor in the Casting Department of Southern Die Casting. A son, Joseph Henry, Jr. , was born to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Henry Hayes on November 12, 1962, Henry is employed in the Maintenance De partment of Southern Die Casting.
