LADIES^ SEAMLESS KNITTING MACHINES MOVED The Knitting Department of Plant #6, ladies' seamless nylon hosiery division, has been moved to the second floor of Plant #7 in space where full fashioned machines had been operated. This move of machines consolidates the fine gauge machines in one room; they had been in three different loca tions. The space was made available when full fashioned knitting was dis continued in October. With the consolidation of the machines, the supervisors of the Knit ting Department will be able to give closer supervision and will be more readily available to the fixers and knitters to help with their problems. Many jobs had to be done to make the move efficiently and with a mini mum of confusion. The picture to the right shows workmen moving the last pieces of the full fashioned machines. Those machines were sold to junk deal ers and no attempt was made to salvage the parts for further use. The lower picture at right shows Robbie Quick cleaning the light fixtures to be ins.tal- led over the machines. Proper align ment is essential to the proper opera tion of machines. The framework for oil pans is installed by Herman Rus sell, left, and Zeb Rush, right. The oil pans are essential to prevent oil from the machines from seeping through the floor and causing hazards on both the second floor and the first. Approximately thirty people were directly involved in the preparations for the move. The ma chine shop furnished men for changing the electrical wiring,
