ED HALL, CHICAGO OFFICE MANAGER, RETIRES Ed A. Hall Ed A. Hall, manager of the Chicago sales office for Adams-Millis hosiery division, is retiring March 31, under the provisions of the retirement plan on the basis of age; John Merrick has been named manager of the Chicago office to succeed him. Hall succeeded C. P. Wirsching as manager of the Chicago office in February, 1955 when Wirsching was named general sales manager. Born in Blue Island, Illinois, a small town just outside Chicago, Hall served overseas in World War I. Ed Hall is retiring with 40 years experience in textile sales. Prior to joining Adams-Millis sales force he had been sales representative for the Charles H. Bacon Company and assis tant hosiery buyer for Sears, Roebuck and Company. Mr. Hall has one daugher, Mrs. Betty Jane McClaflin, who lives in Denver, Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Hall live at 1706 N. Melvine Avenue, Chicago; they are members of the Episcopal Church. In retrospect, Ed Hall views his years with Adams-Millis, "The eight years I have spent with Adams-Millis have been enjoyable ones. Association with Jim Millis and everybody connected with the organization - and I do mean everybody - has been a pleasure. Any time I wanted any information for our records, or shipping information, I would go to the girls in the different de partments, and they would go out of their way to try to give me the informa tion I needed, and I do want to say this, that I appreciated all of the courtesies that have been extended to me.
