(Jim Pendry cont'd. ) Adams-Millis began in the boarding room in 1927. Before boarding on the hot metal forms, Jim placed socks on boards, eight socks to a board, placed the boards and socks in a screw press, and turned on steam. Then, cold water was run through the oven to bring down the temperature so that the socks could be removed. For several years, Jim Pendry was supervisor of the second shift in the board room in Plants #1 and at the Washington Street plant in High Point. When the Washington Street plant was closed in December of 1955, Pendry was transferred to the stock room of Plant #1. He was later transferred to the new Kernersville plant. In 1925, Jim Pendry was married to Irene Corn. They have four sons, all of whom have worked with Adams- Millis, Jim says his plans include part- time work and spending some time on a small farm he has bought near the Blue Ridge Parkway. |>AVe A OW- A daughter, Wendy, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Numa Highfill on June 21, 1966. ANSWER: Due to the broad coverage of hospital, doctor's and other medical expenses provided by the Federal Medicare Program sub stantially for all persons 65 or over, our group insurance will not provide hospitalization benefits for employees nor dependents of employees who have reached age 65. Life insurance and sick benefits will remain the same for em ployees over 65 and the life insur ance for dependents will remain unchanged. Employees whose husbands or wives have attained age 65 should notify their foremen so that the changes can be made on the insur ance records and so that the pre miums can be adjusted accordingly.
