Memorial Hospital for four weeks, had surgery and is home recovering. Joyce Dugger is back in the Finish ing Department again. Congratulations to Ruth Hilton who has just celebrated her Z9th wedding anniversary. Maude Corne is very happy to have her son back in the States. He was in Viet Nam for a year. Plant #7: It's real good to have Imogene Wier and Kate Chapman back after their being out due to illness. Margaret Bencini, who retired on October 3, is missed in the Folding Department, but we hope she is enjoy ing her well-deserved retirement. Much happiness is wished for Isabell Blocker and Walter Pratt who were married on October 3, 1966. Isabell is employed in the Folding De partment. Welcome back to Kennith Man- ring who has returned to Plant #7 as a fixer in the Knitting Department. Maggie Durham, knitter of Plant #7, is still on sick leave. She is miss ed by her fellow workers on second shift. Margaret Byrd, another knitter, is also still on sick leave. Hope she can be back soon. Brenda Beck, seamer of Plant #7, is looking sort of sad these days--and justly so, as her husband, Billy Beck, was recently inducted in the Armed Forces. Bessie Black and Ada Ruth, both of the Seaming Department, are still out after having been hospital patients. Hope they will be back soon. BOARDING ROOM VIEWS. . . With everyone taking their annual jaunt to the mountains to see nature in all of her colorful,splendor, it was quite surprising to hear Sue Allison, on a trip to the races at Mt. Airy, say she hadn't noticed the color of the trees. Now, -w^at was on your mind. Sue ? . . . Congratulations to Lucille Beck on acquiring her driv er's license. We're all still trying to get Georgia Hunt to try for hers, but she says she's just plain scared. . . . Speaking of autumn colors, these new fish net hose are something to see. You name an odd color and John Parker can show you that color. . . .With winter coming on, we have quite a few dieters on hand who are trying to get into some of last year's clothing. Blanche Leonard says she had rather enjoy eating and just buy the next largest size. Let's see, now, what is the largest size. . .Reasons for Happine'ss: Nell Chapman and Georgia Hunt back at their machines. . . . Blanche Leonard and Helen Carter with new daughters-in-law. . . Willie Young with a hew son-in-law. . . Ruby Barber "expectating" and taking all of the kidding in her stride. . . Peggy Gates' young son taking his first steps. Plant #8: Christine Allred, who worked in the Testing Department, gave birth to a little girl last week. Her name is Christy Mae. Congratulations! Jean Barbee, who worked in the Slitting Department and moved away to Georgia, has a new baby also. They visited in High Point last week. We're glad to have Betty Combs, of'the Special Tapes Department, back with us. She has been in the hospital and convalescing at home for the past several weeks. Seems that there's already talk of Christmas, but we're looking forward more to the first of the year when the new building will be ready to move into. Spaghetti anyone ? That was the question of the day last Friday when a spaghetti dinner was served. Boy, was it good! - 17 -
