The letter below was received recently by Personnel Director J. W. Snotherly. Miss Pawlick and her sister, stockholders of Adams-Millis for many years, attended the stockholders meeting and the dedication program at the J. Ed Millis Plant in Kernersville last year. Miss Pawlick was with the investment firm that handled the sale of Adams-Millis stock when it was first listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 1928, and she wrote the original certificate on which the stock was sold. Dear llr. Snotherly: The fast pace of activities here, has delayed ncy acknowledg ing Tfith grateful thanks, your thoughfcfvilness in sending my sister and I a copy of the "MCO NEWS" together vdth a copy of our photo graphs, on the occasicn of the Annual Meeting last April. I also appreciated the little -write-up you gave me - made me feel as if I really "belonged". Actually the cause of the Adsms*4Jillis Corp oration is very close to me, having been acquainted and associated •with it since 1928. However, I did not anticipate the splendid cordiality evidenced by you and your fellow associates. It was most heart-warming. As I looked around among the workers, it was not difficult to sense their satisfaction and happiness in working with and for the Adams-Millis Corporaticn and I feel quite certain that in no small measure, your handling of the personnel phase of the company's activities, is largely responsible for their apparent happy and satisfied attitude. This all reflects in the splendid record of the company and results in its ability to earn the Sears Roebuck "Certificate of Symbol of Excellence". Were the en^loyees to institute slxjw-doTO tactics or evidence careless workmanship resulting in a high percentage of spoilage, the efficiency of the plant and the ultimate return to grateful stockholders, would not be possible. So, your task is a very vital one and it is qsparent you are handling it most ably. Hy sister and I regret we will not be able to be with you this year at the annual meeting and enjoy the warm hospitality of your group, but am hopeful circumstances will permit on some future occasicn. Please be assured that my delay in writing you was in no way occasioned by any lack of appreciatio) but rather a shortage of not enough hours in the day to live as graciously as we would like. With all good wishes to you for continued success and trusting that we will meet again, I remain Mr. J. W. Snotherly, Personnel Mgr., Adams-Millis Corporaticn, High Point, N.C. Sincerely yours. - 15 -
