A/644X4, "7Ue Piantd Plant 1: Much news about vacations. . . . Ruby Combs, of the greige goods de partment, enjoyed a week at Ocean Drive with her family. Evelyn Lewis visited in Lumberton and also went to the lake. Barbara Walker and her husband enjoyed the cool weather in the moun tains. Ruth Ross went to Shingle Hollow to a youth camp and helped to care for 300 children. Julia Leggett and family spent the week at Philadelphia, Pa. Betty Taylor enjoyed Myrtle and Atlantic Beaches. Betty Lloyd might have enjoyed White Lake if she hadn't gotten out of bed so early. Ruby Smith and all of her family spent a week at the beach. Dollie Dawson worked all vaca tion week, except for Friday--and then she had to clean house all day. Some vacation. Plant 2: Martha Sechrist, Brenda Beasley and Catherine Chilton and their fami lies spent some time at Myrtle Beach. David York and family spent a few days in Baltimore. It's good to have Clifford Inman back to work after his having spent a few days in the hospital. Congratulations to Ethelene Bow man who was grand prize winner of a television at a Mt. Airy super market! Virginia Nunn has had an exciting summer. First, she became the proud grandmother of a baby girl. She also spent a vacation at Myrtle Beach where she fished and just relaxed. Patty Marshall and family spent vacation week at Myrtle Beach. Jean Shaw and family spent the week at Newport News, Virginia. Annie Hensley spent the week of July 4 with her family in Georgia. JoAnne Vernon and family spent the weekend of July 4 at Norfolk, Va. Nellie Epperson is looking for ward to a big vacation later. Annie Inman spent a weekend in the Smokies, seeing the sights jind enjoying "Horn In The West. " Ila Vaughn spent her vacation at Cherry Grove Beach. Dot McFall is back to work after being in the hospital. It's good to have her back. Virginia Branch and some friends spent several days in the Smoky Moun tains--they had a great time. Irene Jones and her family spent several days at Myrtle Beach. . .and had a nice tan to prove it. Myrtle Quessinberry and family spent a week visiting friends in Lock- port, Illinois, and sightseeing. Don York and his wife, Shirley, moved into their new home. Rada and John Bowman and family visited their son. Pvt. Lee Roy Bow man, at Fort Bragg, N. C. , and then went on down to Myrtle Beach for a few days. Hazel Semones and her husband visited their daughter in Atlanta, Ga. It's good to have Betty Cook, Pat Jackson and Norma Griffin back on the job. All have been on leave of absence. Dorothy Edwards, who has recently undergone major surgery, is back at home. Hope she can be back soon. Kathleen Chilton and her daughter- in-law visited her son in Fort Bragg a few days ago. Welcome back to Clellan Ramey who has been out of work a few days. Alice Cockerham had a surprise birthday party on August 8. There was a beautiful cake and several gifts. July 19 was Opal Dickman's birth day. Pat Scott and Faith Hawks had a party for her--cake, pickles and lots -10-
