of gifts. Anna Young, who retired from the folding department last year, visited the plant last week. With her, she brought a butternut pound cake--topped with coconut and pecan icing. Her cakes are really special! Glad to learn that Eara Scott's son, Mike, has gone home from the hospital. He was injured in a motor cycle accident. Also, Betty Jean Jones' husband, Lester, sustained a broken leg from a fall on the basement steps. Hope he will soon be able to get around again. Kathleen Chilton's son, Gary, entered the U. S. Armed Forces on July 10. He is taking basic training at Fort Bragg, N. C. We are happy to report that Thelma Jones' husband has returned to his home after being in the hospital. Maude Scott is getting ready for a long vacation trip--she is taking a driver's training course. Hope she makes good. Pamela Gail Smith, daughter of Betty Jean Jones, graduated from Hillsville High School on June 4, 1969. Betty Jean is employed in the folding department of Plant 2. Betty Hiatt and her husband, R. J., spent a good vacation week at Myrtle Beach. Delphia Luffman and her husband spent their vacation in Florida. Esther Simmons and her husband sunned at Myrtle Beach for a week. Kathleen Chilton and husband visited their son and his family in Flint, Michigan. Opal Dickman and her husband visited her husband's parents in Ohio. Lettie June Easter has had a black eye for the past two weeks. We don't know how it happened--we've just had to take her word for it. Plant 3: Ruby Motsinger enjoyed a recent vacation in Florida. Flavia Ragland visited Six Flags Over Georgia on her vacation. What other co-worker wasn't brave enough to cope with weather conditions ? Barbara and Frank Luck flew to Texas for an insurance convention. Eva Stratton vacationed in Florida. Luke Jones has a new daughter-in- law--His son, Tony, recently became the husband of Polly Ann Daniels. Another of Luke's sons, Randy, is back in Vietnam. Randall Shore, son of Miron Shore, is leaving for the U. S. Army this month. Hilda Coleman and her family vacationed at Morehead City, N. C. Steve Motsinger, former employee of Plant 3 and son of Mary Motsinger, also of Plant 3, has com pleted his eight weeks of training with the U. S. Armed forces at Fort Bragg, N. C. He is assigned to the 1st Platoon. We're glad to have Fran back with us. We missed her while she was out sick. Plant 4: Barbara Crews, knitter of Plant 4, was married to Larry Mabe on June 9 in South Carolina. They are making their home on the Germanton Road in Winston-Salem, N. C. Annie Ingram, seamer of Plant 4, was married to Leroy Calhoun, former employee of Plant 4, on the 11-
