Editor Mrs. Ina 1 ried Public Relations Assistant John Pecton Six new faculty appointments in the medical center have been announced by University Provost Frederic N. Cleaveland. Named assistant professor were Dr. Collins Earl Baber, radiology; Dr. Enrico M. Camporesi, anesthesiology; Dr. M. Ann Groce, aiiesthesiology; Dr. Michael D. Kaufman, medicine (neurology); Dr. John F. Steege, obstetrics and gynecology; and Dr. Stephen L. Young, medicine. Baber's appointment is effective Sept. 1. The others were effective July 1. A native of Cie-we, Va., Baber received a B.S. degree from North Carolina Central University in 1%9 and his M.D. from Duke in 1973. He has completed an internship in internal medicine and a residency in radiology at Duke. Camporesi received his M.D. in 1970 from the University of Milan in his native Italy. After work in the Department of Physiology at the University of Rochester, he completed a residency in anesthesiology at Duke. A resident in anesthesiology at Duke, Groce received her A.B. degree from Ehike in 1970 and her M.D. from the University of North Carolina Medical School in 1972. She completed internships and residencies in surgery at North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill and Bames Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. A 1971 graduate of EHike medical school, Kaufnun received his B.S. degree from Union College, Schenectady, N.Y., in 1%7. He was on the faculty at Emory University after completing a residency in neurophysiology and electomyography at the Mayo Clinic. He is a native of Macon, Ga. Steege, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., received his B.A. degree from Stanford University in 1968 and his M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine in 1972. After an internship and residency at Yide-New Haven Hospital, he was a feUow in human sexuality and an instructor in the Department of Obstetrics-Gynecology at Yale. Most recently an assistant professor in residence at the University of California at Los Angeles, Young received his B.S. degree from the University of Arizona in 1964 and his M.D. from the University of California at San Francisco in 1968. He completed residencies and research fellowships at Harbor General Hospital, Torrance, Calif. He is a native of Camden, N.J.
