Rams foil UNC'W
The Rams dropped their second game of the season last
week.
Rams drop
To Gaston
Ram's defense comes down with a rebound in their opening game against the Freshman
squad of UNC-Wilmington. The SCC cagers won the game 89-63.
The Rams dropped their
second game of the season to
Gaston College, 80-71, after a
close scoring duel. Coach
Brooks' squad, led by Barry
Faity and Jim Crume con
trolled the boards and came
up with last minute baskets
for their win.
Ronnie Taylor for SCC led
scrimmaging efforts with 25
points, while Ronnie Jones
grabbed 16 rebounds for the
young Rams.
The Southeastern Com
munity College Rams took
an early game lead to win
their opener against the
University of North Carolina
at Wilmington Frosh in an 89-
63 defeat.
Coach Walsh's inex
perienced squad proved quite
effective, especially in
shooting, as they hit over 52
percent of their floor shots.

The Rams, sparked by
Ronnie Jones, Nat Major, and
Ronnie Taylor, were leading
the Sea Hawks 47-30 at
halftime. Guard, David
Sanlin, for Wilmington led
defensive and offensive
action.

Jones, 18; Josh Todd, 10; Joe
Stanley, 4; Nat Major, 12;
Ronnie Taylor, 25; Charlie
Groves, 2.
For the winning Gaston
squad, Jim Crume led scoring
with 21 points. Also in double
figures were Barry Faith
with 18, Jim Miller with 17;
and Bob Roberts who hit for
11. Other 6cor-ers were
Michaux with 8; Wooley, 5;
and McNair, 1.
