Phoenix fly into new season
Elon football is ready to bounce
back from its 2-9 record during the
2001-2002 season.
“It’s not a sin to get knocked
down,” coach A1 Seagraves said. “It is a
sin to stay down. The Phoenix are ready
to rise again.”
The team has 18 returning players,
but Seagraves said he has not settled on
a quarterback. “We have two weeks to
decide who’s going to take that ball and
lead us out on that field,” Seagraves
said.
The team has three preseason
scrimmages on its schedule. “We eager
ly anticipate the start of the season,”
Seagraves said. ‘We love this game of
football and we play and coach it with a
passion.”
