At present, when a girl comes in the dorm after the doors are closed and regardless of the time she is late, she is given one day of strict campus which is to be taken the following weekend. This means that for one day, the girl must re main in her room except for attending classes and meals. She may not make or receive any local phone calls. Many women students, it was brought up, feel that such penalty for a first offense, without a previous warning, is too rigid a regulation. The committee.,suggested to the Council that they consider the possibility of giving one warning to a girl for a first offens&, v^ith stricter measures being taken for a repeated violation. ^ ^ ^ At the same meeting, the committee discussed the subject of forming a leadership society on the campus. The committee feels that there is a need for such an organization and voted to recommend that this be presented to the President of the College and that a committee be appointed to study and follow through on such an organization. At present there is a scholastic honorary society which was formed last year. The Order of the Oak. The Entertainment Committee has a treat in store for the campus with the presentation of a folk-singing group, "The Migrants" who will appear in Whitley Auditorium on Friday, December 13. The group includes Mr. Sandy Moffett, Head of the Drama Department at Elon, his wife, and two of their acquaintances from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. ■ On Saturday, January 4, the committee will sponsor a dance in McEwen Bining Hall. "The Fabulous Five", rated by some as the "number one rock-ai^d- roll band in North Carolina" will appear at this event. Also, the committee is planning to sponsor several dances in the Union after home basketball games, and movies for next semester have been chosen. TJie Chairman of the Entertainment Committee is Wayne Pruitt. The SGA wishes to thank Congressman Horace Kornegay and Senator B. Everett Jorden, both of North Carolina, for the two 50-star flags they recently gave to our Stiident Government. The flags, which were flown over the Capitol of the'United States, will be placed in the Senate Hall and in the SGA Office. ■ Also, I^ss Edith Brannock, Head of the Home Ec.
