ft wen CAMPUS VOICE - DECEMBER 12. 2001 Clubs offer opportunities, involvement Officers and advisors of Phi Theta Kappa pose for a formal shot following the initiation of new members. PHOTOS: VOICE STAFF 2001-2002 Phi Beta Lambda officers and advisors. By TERESA ESTEVEZ and DOMINIQUE MILES Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), a club for business majors, elected the following officers for 2001-2002: Joy Salsburg, President; Amanda Mozingo, Vice President; Sharon Mosley, Secretary, and Angela Wallace, treasurer. Sharon Bull and LaRose Brock serve as the club’s advisors. Other officers include Jessie Morgan and Muneka Henderson, SGA Representatives; and Sherry Pigford, PBL bulletin board coordinator. The PBL chapter at WCC is the Gamma Chi Chapter. Activities undertaken for the 2001-2002 semester include the following: On September 20, one of the PBL advisors and two officers attended the PBL Fall Kick-Off at Fayetteville State University. On Octoberl, in support of the American Cancer Society’s annual Breast Cancer Awareness month, PBL members set up a table with pink ribbons, stickers, and various types of literature displaying about breast cancer. On October 2, PBL participated in the annual Spelling Bee at the Wayne County Fair. Students gather an the infomation table which Phi Beta Lambda officers set up in the Atrium during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. On October 25, PBL assisted Rosewood High School’s FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) chapter at Edgewood Developmental School with their annual harvest festival. PBL baked goodies and took drinks to the school and helped serve the students there. On October 31, the PBL members had their own harvest bake sale and raffle at WCC.
