If you have been wonder
ing what the construction crews
are doing in our former parking
lots, it's a great new building our
campus is getting. In November
1993, a Community College Bond
was passed that allowed Wilkes
Community College the funds to
build a new Learning Resource
and Student Center. This will be
the second largest building on
campus. The new building is ex
pected to be occupied Spring
Semester of 1998. You are going
to love this new building, with
44,000 square feet of space and two
stories high. The Learning Re
sources Center, better known as the
library, will be housed on the sec
ond floor of the building. This will
provide you, the students, a better
resource with new computer tech
nology and more books to help you
in your studies. The first floor of
the new building will house a new
student center. piease turn to page 4....

inconvenience a little less stressful.
The best thing for students to do is to
get here early, find a good parking
space close to the building where most
of their classes are held, THEN STAY
THERE! Walking is good for the body
anyway; why not take advantage of it?
This campus has been fortunate enough
to be able to provide adequate parking
