Change in Baseball Schedule. Manager J. Benbow Jones has an nounced the following change in our baseball schedule. Trinity College plays here on April 10th instead of April 14th, and the Wofford game will be played on the following day, April 11th. This change has been made in order to make it possible for the Wofford team to make their North Carolina trip and to keep the Trinity game from conflicting with the Virginia - Carolina game in Greensboro. R. N. Wilson to Address Science Club Mr. R. N. Wilson, of the depart ment of chemistry of Trinity College, will address the next meeting of the Science Club. Mr. Wilson is well known to Guilfordians as he was for 12 years professor of chemistry at Guilford (College. His record here will compel all who know him to look forward to his visit with much antic ipation. UNCLE MUNN'S CORNER. (The following is a continuation of Uncle Munn's spring poem which was broken off a month ago on ac count of the cold weather. The re maining 76 verses will appear in a later issue.) Here by the murmur of this crys tal stream, on that knarled root this day I'll sit and dream, and when it breaks in that clear pool I'll be, and think how seldom things are what they seem. O that round stone upon the bright bank bourne, which storms of countless ages smooth have worn, perhaps t'will do to sit upon, but lo! it is the graveyard of a mouse forlorn. Or this brown trunk a mighty oaks remains, grown by a thousand summer suns and rains, perhaps 'twill do to sit upon, but think, also how many bugs its bark contains. Ah! here's a grassy couch of emerald green, 'Tis where I'll watch the glittering streamlets sheen but think of what a fearful cold I'll catch, if e'er upon that grassy couch I lean. And that bright meadow set with flowerlets sweet and growing into life with springtide's heat. How many daisies on its sward shall come, but I'll not come for it will wet my feet. And yet I love thee spring for all thy wrongs, I love thee for I hear melodious songs, the birds' sweet note, yet sweeter birds there are, to chickefi fried, the sweetest song be longs. I hear the dog wood's bark beneath the tree, I hear the cat fish mewing mournfully; the bull frog wooes the cow frog with his song, and all the calf frogs warble joyful ly. I'll sit and watch yon brown and vacant tree, dreaming in silence of the life to be, dreaming of that full summer life to come, of sunshine gilded robes of greenery. I'll sit and watch yon mossy bank unfold its treasures hid within its darkened mold, each little flowerlet rising from its tomb, no longer locked by winter's hand of cold. I see a strug gle round me everywhere, a dim ex pectancy fills all the air, a conscious struggling upward after life, a hope of summer answering spring tide's prayer. Be that my prayer; no more a deadened thing I'l be, but into my dark life I'll bring, the yearning of these hidden things to grow; and know and feel the spirit of the spring. I rise and homeward wend my weary way; four quinine pills I take without delay and tallow thick I lay upon my nose, and o'er my throat hot water bottles lay. THE GUILFORDIAN WEBSTER!ANS AND PHILOMATHEANB ATTEND (Continued from first page) risions of the statesmen died away, the Vice-President's gaved sounded and the 64th session of Congress ad journed. It is most unusual for Philomath eans to be abroad in the land at such an hour, but when the clock struck the magic spell under which they had been was broken, and they found themselves in the beautiful new home of the "Webs." The Senators had been transformed into Guilford boys—and the remainder of the story no one girl can tell. Suffice it to say that a movie film photograph er would have found happiness reg istered on every Philomathean face. The Henry Clay and Websterian halls were thrown open to the de lighted guests and the hospitality of the hosts was shown by welcome in abundance. No political pie nor pork was serv ed, but the well appointed refresh ments were just as delightful to the visitors as a juicy slice of political pie might have been to a veteran politician. They were: Grape Fruit Cherries Cream Cake Coffee Mints The guests were furnished with the title page of the Congressional Record which set forth the proceed ings of this remarkable session. Would that all future lawmakers might have been present. HUFFINE HOTEL GREENSBORO Also Yadkin Hotel Salisbury, N. C. Stonewall Hotel. .. .Charlotte, N. C. LaFayette Hotel. .Fayetteville, N. C.
