The members of the Association will also take notice of the list of amendments to 'the constitution which are printed on the back of the ballot. These amendments will be acted upon at the annual meeting of the Association at commencement and should be carefully considered by the Alumni in order to secure wise action in May. It is likely that some of the members have definite convictions as to the amendments in question, the publication of which would aid in the consideration of the proposed changes. The Alumni Edi tor would therefore like to suggest that the Alumni column of the Guil fordian is a good place to express your ideas of the amendments. To this end the Guilfordian will carry in its next issue a copy of the amendments and also a statement of those provisions of the constitution as they now read, to be amended. On Friday evening, March 30th, the Zatasian Literary Society met with the usual enthusiastic spirit. The following officers were installed: President, Gertrude Cronk; secre tary, Vanner Neece; marshal, Mary Cox. The entire program was rendered in a most commendable manner. A reading was given by Thelma Steel, after which the question, "Resolved that it would be a benefit to the Uni te 1 States to annex Mexico and Can ada." was deibated. Jaunita Reece and Una Seal discussed the affirma tive fsnd Vera Mcßane and Gertrude Smitherman defended the negative. The judges decided in favor of the affirmative. The speakers showed that they had prepared themselves to debate the question in an intelli gent and business-like manner, and irought the society to the realization of the fact that some of the members could apply themselves in debating with as much enthusiasm as in music and other things. Gertrude Cronk in her usual charming and forceful way gave 'The Cremation of Sam MdGee" by Robert Sernice. The society was delighted to have as visitors Misses Hazel Reece and Evelyn Burt. After a helpful critic's report by Eula Hockett, society adjourned. CLAY NOTES. There was no regular program ren dered by the Clay Society on March 23 on account of examinations. The three members to the debating coun cil were appointed, being R. C. Kiser, S. N. White and Wade Hussey. At the meeting March 30 it was found that several, or almost half, of the members were absent, and as there were some who desired to go to the health show, the regular program was postponed until April 6 by con sent of debaters.
