Page Eight GOLDSBORO HI NEWS William Street Sponsors Week-Long Science Fair A Science Fair, sponsored by the eighth grade of William Street School, opened Monday, May 1, and closed today at 1 o’ clock. Sundry things on exhibition were farms, constellations, The Health Center and puppet show, which were made by the fifth through the eighth grades at William Street. Mrs. Twiford and Mr. Plonk, teachers at William Street, were in charge of the fair. The winning exhibits were chosen by twenty judges. Junior Week— (Continued from page one) Doak, Louis Hallow, and Donald Jordan sang their version of Ragg Mopp. The proclamation was read to the students by Junior Cousin, who stated the rules that the Sophomores, Freshmen, and Se niors had to abide by during the week. The senior class was judged for best performance and the best singing of their class song. Mr. Britton, Mr. Twiford, and Junior Cousins stressed the need of everyone’s co-operation in making the parade a success. Senior Day— (Continued from Page 1) throughout the day. McGinnis, presiding. This program includ ed a concert by the College Band, a welcome by President J. D. Messick, music by the College Chorus, roll call by counties, an nouncements, and a song, “The Old North State”. From 12:20 to 2:00 p. m., a barbecue lunch on the Picnic Grounds at the Dining Hall. At 2:15 to 2:40 a one-act play was held in the Teachers Playhouse in the Austin Auditorium. 2:45 to 2:55 p. m., the Women’s Chor us sang in the Austin Auditor ium. At 2:30 a baseball game was held between ECTC and Ap palachian. 3:00-4:00 p. m. Motion Picture in Austin Auditorium, or tea dance in Wright Building. The music was furnished by the Col legians.
