Little Girls Play
Good Guys
The Albemarle girls football
team will play the Big Ways
Good Guys at the Senior High
Stadium November 16 at 8:00
p. m.
The team, coached by Coach
Becky Stasavich, has been
practifcing in preparation for
the big game. Coach Becky
Stasavich is presently negotiat
ing with several highly quali
fied, nationally known assistant
mentors, and an announcement
as to the assistants will be re
leased shortly.
Big Ways Good Guys con
sists of a team of disc-jockeys
from radio station WAYS of
Charlotte. They have a 4-1-1
record and this is the first
game of the season for the
girls, so the outcome is ques
tionable.
Chief cheerleader, Tommy
Blalock, and his squad will
be there in good form to
cheer the team on to victory.
The Booster’s Club is planning
on a huge turnout from the
schools and the city to witness
this spectacular game. There
will be a caravan and bon-fire
preceeding the game which
will organize in the school
parking lot at 6:30 p. ni.
Coach Stasavich in an inter
view with a “Full Moon” re
porter stated, “They’ve got a
pretty tough team, those Good
Guys. But I have not seen a
girl yet who could not handle
a man. We plan to win, but
after all, it matters not wheth
er you win or lose, but how
you play the game. But we’re
going out there to win.”
reports were given by the county secretary and
treasurer.
A carefully engineered fashion show was the
highlight of the evening. Using a theme of a trip
to Mars, Mrs. Agnes James and Miss Louise Furr
of James’ Clothing guided the audience with a
rocket ship of fashions, a perfect wardrobe for
an interplanetary visit. Stage settings were dili
gently and beautifully blended with the theme by
Betty Brooks and the local FHA
Club. A total of seven models,
one from each club in the county,
paraded before the audience in
fashions for a young girl’s every
occasion. Mrs. James and Miss
Furr delivered commentary on
the collection. Models for the
event were Catherine Kelley, Al
bemarle Senior High; Doretha
Garmon, Kingville High; Sharon
McCrady, Albemarle Junior High;
Elaine EHrd, South Stanly High;
Janet Pickier, North Stanly High;
Becki Medlin, West Stanly High;
and Betty Bennett, West Badin
High.
Mrs. James then drew the
names for the door prizes which
were registered for earlier in the
evening. The prizes were cour
tesy of James’ Clothing.
To conclude the evening ac
tivities, the new officers of the
Stanly County FHA were install

dent. New officers that were in
