Read on for the local spots you will want to see-and how to get there. RESTAURANTS Raleigh hosts several themed restaurants for any occasim. On Wake Forest Rd., Bahama Breeze takes you to the islands. The restaurant has "tour guides" instead of waiters and has the appeal of a lai^e tiki hut, with both outdoor and indoor seating. Sottthesd Brewery on W. Jones St. and Jack Astor's on Walnut St. in Cary are perfect for die art majors. Both restaurants come equipped with crayons, and paper tableclodis to practice your drawing abilities. For those with Irish origins, visit Ri>Ra's Irish Pub on N. West St., or The Hibernian Restaurant on Glenwood Ave. For live dining entertain ment, Rum Runaers has dueling piano players and ladies’ night discount. CLUBS Raleigh also offers sever al great clubs for late night fun. Chariie Goodnight's on W. Moi^an St. hosts many famous comedians such as Bill Bellamy, and other fim acts with hypnotists and ventriloquists. CONCERTS For concerts, snag a spot on die lawn at Alltel PavilioB and listen to music under the stars. The Liacoia Theatre on E. Cabarrus St is a prime venue to hear music from neaiiy every musical era, and there is no minimum age to enter. COFFEE Hillsborough St is home to several coffee houses including Starbacks and Global Village Orgaaic Coffee. Both businesses |Mt>vide cozy environments to stufy, read a book or socialize over muffins with friends. SHOPPING There are several mails just minutes away. Cameron Village, off Oberlin Road, Cary Towne Ceater, on Walnut Street, Crabtree Valley Mali, mi Glenwood Avenue, Streets of Sonthpoint, off 1-40, and Ralei^’s newest shopping complex, IViaagk Towae Center, off Capital Boulevard, are all within 30 minutes of Meredith.
