Mark Monday, June 13, on your calendar for the club's annual luncheon. LOLA COUNCIL --------- oOo --------- ANCIENT MARINERS The 25-week long 1987-1988 bowling season came to a crash finale on April 4. Although no play-offs were required this year, it was nip-and-tuck, on-again-off-again, for the leading teams right down to the last day's play. Arnold Smith's team won top honors with 63 points, just 3^ points more than George Broadstreet's second-place team that chalked up 59^. Then, in hot pursuit to the end, Millie Herbst's team with 58^ points and Bob Gallo's team with 58, never stopped applying the heat to the heels of those barely ahead. If the season had been extended a few weeks, no telling who might be up there taking the bows. However, we'll leave •such conjecturing to any of our bowling "sages" who might derive pleasure therefrom. Our point-of-view is: when it's over it's over! Since our last report John Keegan joined the 200-plus Club with a 209. In addition we had repeats from Frank Herbst, George Broadstreet and Bob Gallo. The 500-Series Club also had repeats — George Broadstreet, Bob Gallo, both Herbst brothers, John Keegan, Hank Ingram and Herb Roselle. New members of the Ladies 180-plus Club this month are Jennie Roselle [184], Janie Briley [185] and Karolyn Cleveland [180], while Edna Kent and Millie Herbst did it again. New member of the 450-Series Club is Rene Ingram with a 453. Repeats are Millie Herbst and Lib Fleming. Hey, bowlers, this past month, as well as the entire season, has been a great experience for most of us... Since our deadline occurs before the Awards Banquet—which occurs before Shore Line distribution — we'll report on said banquet, season statistics and award-winning bowlers in the next issue. JACK MORRIS --------- oOo --------- FROM THE AQUARIUM If you have visited the Aquarium lately, you have noticed that the touch table exhibit is being reconstructed. This new and improved touch exhibit is the perfect opportunity for those who love animals and people to "get in touch". Volianteers are needed to interact with visitors and look out for the welfare of the animals on display. Anyone interested in helping out a few hours a week please
