Page 3 adoption at the July meeting of the Board of Commissioners. The •franchise fee was increased from 3% base to 5%'of the annual gross of subscriber revenues. Audits, maps, bonds and insurance will be provided by the franchisee to the Town and be available in the Town Clerk's office. SURPLUS POLICE CARS Pine Knoll Shores has two police cars; 1988 Chevrolet Caprice 1990 Chevrolet Caprice that have been declared surplus to the Town. These vehicles can be seen in the parking lot at the Town Hall. If you wish to bid on the purchase of these cars, you can do so by presenting a sealed bid to Commissioner Musgrave, 100 Municipal Circle, Pine Knoll Shores, N. C. 28512. SEAT BELT USE MANDATORY Thirty seconds of your time will save a $25.00 fine! Do not operate a motor vehicle: (1) In forward motion without the provided seat belt properly fastened about the driver's body. (2) In forward motion while tran sporting a person under six teen years old in the front seat without having person properly secured in the pro vided safety seat belt. (3) By transporting a child less than six years of age without having the child properly se cured in a child passenger restraint system. MOTOR VEHICLE TAX BILLS Carteret County Tax Office is now mailing the motor vehicle tax bills for 1993. Make sure the location shown on your bill is Pine Knoll Shores. Please call the Carteret County Tax Office if you have any questions. BEACH RENOURISHMENT Surveying for the Corps of Engineers beach renourishment program will begin later in this month. Expect to see Don Clements and his crew in trucks and on foot on the oceanfront. MEET OUR NEW NEIGHBORS Arlene and Felix Caggiano moved here about one and a half years ago. They live on the canal at 106 Elm Court. The house is unusual with a blue roof and the front in the shape of a ship's prow. Felix, better known as Fil, was the house designer for the unusual lot. Fil was an estimating engi neer in heavy construction for the Pegno Construction Company at College Point, Queens, New York. They moved here from Hicksville, Long Island, New York, where they had 5 children, 2 boys, 3 girls, and a total of 14 grandchildren. One son lives in West Virginia, one son in Pennsylvania, one girl in Arizona and two girls on Long Island, New York. They first looked at Western North Carolina.
