Reminder to Register for the 2010 Kayak for the
Warriors. I want to remind all Pine Knoll Shores folks
that you need to register soon for this year's race on
June 12. I'd like to give our homeowners "first dibs"
on this event. Please go to www.kayakforthewarriros.
com to download a race registration brochure, or call
Linda at 247-4253.
Pedestrian Plan approved by DOT. The State has
approved the draft plan that the town formulated last
winter. The next step is a public hearing, which will
take place at the Board of Commissioners' meeting
on May 11, at 6:00 p.m. We have a copy posted on
the town's website, and there is a copy at town hall
for anyone to view.
Budget Timeline. (Repeat message) Our timeline
is outlined as follows:
• May 27,2010 (General Statute requires submission
no later than June 1,2010) - Submission of Fiscal-Year
(FY) 2010-2011 Proposed Budget and Budget Message.
File copy of F Y 2010-2011 Proposed Budget and Budget
Message with clerk, library and media. Call for Public
Hearing on FY 2010-2011 Proposed Budget.
• June 8, 2010 - Board Meeting. (General Statute
requires that governing body must adopt the FY 2010-
2011 Budget no earlier than 10 days after submission
and no later than July 1,2010) - Public Hearing on FY
2010-2011 Proposed Budget. Call for vote on FY 2010-
2011 Proposed Budget before June 30, 2010.
