Ms. Leibert grew up on the south shore of Long Island, where she developed her appreciation for the natural beauty of the seashore. Her formal training began with advertising studies at the State University of New York (SUNY)-Farmingdale, followed by her completion of a BS in art education at SUNY-New Paltz. She taught art in New York and Kansas. Retirement brought Ms. Leibert to eastern North Carolina where she began showing her work in local shows and galleries. In 2002 she joined the Watercolor Society of North Carolina (WSNC) and gained signature membership in 2004. Since that time, she has been accepted in thirteen consecutive WSNC shows and has won awards for five accepted pieces. For the past two years her work has been juried into the South Carolina Water Media Society show and selected for their year-long traveling show. Ms. Leiberfs paintings have received awards of excellence in this year’s and past years’ Art for the Heart exhibitions", and in 2015 two of her paintings were shown as part of the WSNC Signature Member show at the Carolina Artist Gallery in Morehead City. She and her husband. Bob, have designed numerous sets for Carteret Community Theatre, and she is a past president of the Arts for the Hospital Committee.
