Norbert Murray, S 2/C, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Bradley Murray, Leaksville,
is now stationed at Ft. Pierce, Fla, af
ter training at Camp Peary, Va. Be
fore entering service Norbert was em
ployed at the Bedspread Mill.
Vernon L. Farmer, son of Mr. and
Mrs. S. V. Farmer, Draper. Vernon has
been in service for quite awhile and he
is expected home on leave before long.
And we hope it is real soon.
Carl II. Hall, has just returned to his
base in California after spending a ten
day leave with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Clyde Hall, of Draper. Carl, we
enjoyed and appreciated your letter.
Shown in the staff photograph is
Private First Class Joseph E. Holliman,
Draper, North Carolina, now serving
with a Service Unit of the XII Air Force
Service Command in Italy. He is shown
as he prepares a hot meal on an Army
range in a field kitchen. Individuality
and ingenuity count most in this field
and the soldier stands high in both
characteristics. He has had over sixteen
months overseas service and is author
ized to wear the European, African,
Middle East Theater Ribbon with one
bronze campaign star.
John M. Gregory, S 2/c, is now in a
hospital in Portsmouth, Va. Suffering a
fractured skull in Africa he spent some
time in a hospital in that country, later
being brought to Portsmouth for treat
