Visiting students from Richmond Professional Institute are shown in Deigning Department during their tour of Karastan Interior Design Students Make Visit To Karastaf^ Interior design majors from Richmond Professional Institute, Richmond, Va., were recent visitors at the Karastan Mill. The group of 32 juniors and sen iors was led by Jerry Field, associate professor of interior design who is a fac ulty adviser; and Mrs. Dorothy Hamil ton, instructor in interior design. Alan Lynn is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Pike who live at 509 Byrd Ave- n u e in Leaksville. Father is employed in the Inspecting De- partment at the Blanket Mill. in the Karastan Designing Department. There they heard discussions of the op erations of the Designing Department and saw the various steps in the produc tion of a rug design. The students later were conducted on a tour of the mill to see the manufacturing processes. In the picture at left, above, J. E. Gardner, Fieldcrest training manager, Brenda Kay Chilton Pictured at left is Brenda Kay Chilton, who was five months old when the picture was made. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen “Buck” Chilton, who live at Kemersville. Grand parents are Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Chilton and Mr. and Mrs. Neal Thomas. Mr. Chilton and Mr. Thomas both are re tired from the Blanket Mill Weave Room. Mrs. Thomas (Anice) is em ployed in the Sheeting Mill Spinning Department. Carlene Roberson C a r 1 e n e Renee Roberson, six months old, is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Roberson. Father is an employee of the Karastan Finish ing Department and mother, Annette, works in the Pur chasing Department at the General Of fices. Carlene Renee is granddaughter of Calvin Willard who is employed at the Sheeting Mill and Estelle Willard who works at the Blanket Mill. of greets visitors.
