The records are not readily available for the years prior to 1957, but an is sue of The Mill Whistle in 1957 report ed that the Inspecting Department em ployees had worked 20 years without a disabling injury. On that basis, the department could be well past the 30-year mark since the last lost-time accident occurred. In a message to the employees an nouncing the “safety break,” niembers of the mill management congratulated them on their outstanding record and thanked them for their interest and co operation in the prevention of on-the- job accidents.
