CLASS PROPHECY Hello Dahlings! The hour glass has turned over 3,620 times since we last spoke to you through the DIALETTE. It is now the year 1962. We are sure you are in terested to know what the members of the Senior Class of a decade ago are do ing. We, the phophets, have received word by radiotelegraph that Martha Holman operates a line of Space Ships that com mutes daily between Earth and Mars. In her spare time she directs RECREATION for her pilots off duty! Recently we noticed in the Scientific Re.search Magazine, and we pass it on to you, that Jeanette Nash has so excelled in chemistry that she has received the highest honor that can be bestowed on anyone for developing an anti-toxin for the prevention of inattention in her Board meetings. We are sure that you would like to know that Jinx Bean has finally gotten married to one of her former ardent ad mirers in her college career. She is now with her husband on exploration in South America where he is studying tropical butterflies. She expects to rear her child ren in full knowledge of the FLORA and FAUNA. Carolyn Williams, the young contem porary American poet and author, is now well launched in her career after having jilted several former suitors, among whom was one who can truly “tickle the keys.” With such a background she has written a best seller entitled HUMAN NATURE PAST AND PRESENT. Just the other day we received word from the former Juanita Combs, who has settled m the beautiful Blue Grass state of Kentucky. Besides rearing three grow ing children, she raises Kentucky thor oughbreds as an avocation. Her husband keeps the house while she plays horsy! Beautiful Southern Belle Betty Marshall soon grew tired of the South Carolina sands when she was offered a contract by the leading movie studio in Hollywood which she immediately accepted. Everyone can see her in her recent picture entitled. This scene is of the May Pole dance, the climax of nearly a hundred students. In the background can be seen '"c'uded b?“l:Twa"rd“^)u?u?jn! “Two Gun Lucy and the One-Armed Ban dit.” It’s a killer! We smiled when we heard that Becky Glenn had finally gotten up nerve to pro pose to a young handsome actor. She is starring with him in a play called, ^ I Want You, I Want You, I Want You.” Louise Cayton, our scholarly one, hav ing completed her Law Degree, is now Chief Aide to President Taft. She is his technical advisor on legal matters concern ing the disposal of all those ignorant people who do not agree with her and the Honorable Robert Taft. We were informed that Mae Hager was engaged in food research for the Martha Holman Space Corporation. .Toe soon grew tired of eating the results of her expen ments such as beans grown by atomic energy on Mars. She is now a leisurely homemaker hoping to instill her interes in food research into one of her five daz zling daughters. , Poor Evelyn Hennessee, she hasn’t a man yet, but she still has hopes. Rc cently Martha Holman employed her as a Space Ship Stewardess. Since didn’t have any luck with men on^ earth, she eagerly reports that it is quite ex citing and thrilling looking for one on Mars. She says, and we quote, “These men are simply out of this world!” And now, dahlings, since we, the proP‘ ets, did so well in writing our Class Phophecy in 1952, we would like to re port that we are now employed by t ® United Nations to predict future events. In private life, Ruth McKay operates the television studio that keeps in con tact with Martha Holman’s Space Ships on Mars. She finds it entertaining to watch on T.V. Martha’s RECREATION work! In private life Myrt Williamson owns and operates a photograph studio. When asked what her best subjects are, you can imagine hearing her say, “MEN, dahlings, MEN!” Goodbye for now. We will report again in another decade. Ruth McKay and Myrt Williamson, Class Prophets COURTESY OF BLACK MOUNTAIN LUMBER COMPANY PHONE 3231 Dialette
