1 A former employee of the American & Efird MiUs, Inc., RAY HEFNER, is back with the com pany this time as a card grinder on the second shift at the Rush Plant. He worked in the carding de partment at the Madora Plant in 1954 and is finding a great improvement in our re-built high produc tion cards. Mr. Hefner and wife, MRS. ROXIE HEFNER, live in Gastonia. She is employed at Homelhe Manufacturing Company. They have two children. Pictured are DOUG CALDWELL, Manager of Jobber Customer Service, and CATHY DRUMM, assistant. Doug and his wife, Naomi, and Cindy, their one-year old, live in Belmont. Cathy and husband, Jimmy, live in Catawba Heights. They have one young son, Chris. niimfr ■.iiiiff, Pictured above Is MARGIE MARTIN, a spinner on the third shift at the Adrian Plant. She and her husband live in Alexis. They have 11 wonderful children. Between working and caring for her family, Margie’s hobby is relaxing and watching TV. RUTH BROYHILL (front) and LORENE WHEATLEY (back) are 2nd shift twister tenders at Spun Fibers. Ruth and her husband, Dewey, have 4 girls and 4 boys. Lorene and her husband, Earl, have 1 girl and 4 boys. Many of our skilled oper ators have a dual job, looking after their families and producing the quality yam and thread for which A & E is famous. the spot he PLANTS SHIRLEY JOHNSON (front) and MYRTLE LACKEY (back) are winder tenders at Spun Fibers. Shirley is helping train Myrtle on the autoconers. Shirley’s husband, Claude, works In the maintenance department at Spun Fibers. They have two children, Dianne 15 and Steve 10. The Johnsons are members of First Baptist Church in Whitnel. Myrtle’s hus band, Manley, works in the winding department. They have 2 boys and 2 girls. The Lackeys attend Miller Hill Baptist Church.
