• • • HELEN HARRIS, Warp Tender on the second shift, was first employed at the Nelson Plant 11 years ago. She has been re-employed 3 years. She has 2 children and attends Central Baptist Church. CLARENCE RAY WATERS and GUSS COPE are employees at Textured Yam Plant. Ray, left, is Second Shift Twister Section Man, and has been with the company for four years. He and his wife, Betty, and their four children live in Belmont. They attend Memorial Baptist Church. His hobby is bowling. Guss, right. Second Shift Winding Section Man, has been employed at Plant 62 for two years. He and his wife, Lucy, and their four children live in Stanley. They attend the Freewill Baptist Church. His hobby is bowling, also. RAY HENLEY, quiller operator at the American Plant, is pictured with supervisor, Ted McGee. Ray has been employed here 38 years, beginning at age 16. (Just told how old he is—sorry about that, Ray.) He and wife, Nellie, have six children—3 boys and 3 girls, and 4 grandchildren. Ray*s favorite pastimes are hunting and fishing. fn ALLAN DAVENPORT, Manager of Southern Customer Service Department, is well known to all A & E employees. Allan has been with our com pany for IS years. He lives in Mt. Holly with his wife, Vivian, and two young sons, David and Joe. Allan and his family attend Westview Presbyterian Church, where he is Chairman of the Board of Deacons, and President of The Men’s Class of the Church. He is also a member of the Rotary Club, and Jaycees. ON^ J. D. JOHNSON, 1st shift superivsor over wind ing, twisting, reeling at Spun Fibers. J. D., his wife, Ruth, and family are members of First Baptist Church in Whitnel. It’s been said before, the good mill people just can’t stay away from Spun Fibers, they know where the working conditions are best. Glad to have J. D. back in the supervisory division.
