P«8# 6, W>tt Craven Highlights, November 2S, 1962 Church Highlights Sharing Good News By DOROTHY FILLINGAME The good news from the Word of God for this week comes from I Cor. 10:12-13; St Lukes 21:34-36; Rev. 2:25 and Philippians 1:6. The Apostle Paul tells us this in I Cor. 10:12-13, “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able: but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” In the book of St. Luke, Jesus warned the disciples with these words, "And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Rev. 2:25, Jesus tells us this, “But that which ye have already, hold fast till I come.” Our enemy, Satan, is truly walking about, as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Paul tells ■ us about this in I Peter 5:8. Don’t think that the devil has given up on you, if you belong to Christ Jesus. He is trying to depress God’s people and would love nothing better than for all of us to sit down and just quit! He wants the children of God to say they’re tired of carrying the Cross, that the pressure is to hard to bear. We are in a battle. Satan is warring against the mind and spirit of every Christian today. Some are falling by the wayside, giving in to Satan. No longer do they sing the song of Zion, no longer do they praise the name of our Almighty God and His beloved son, our Lord Jesus Christ. They now sing the songs of the world and praise the things of Satan. If we don’t watch and pray, Satan will steal our desire to serve God. We must be careful and strive to enter in at the strait gate. The, Lord tells us in Philippians 1:6 this “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Tabernacle Holiness Church News By REBA MITCHELL Along the pathway of life, my heart keeps singing, “I’m going thru Jesus, I’m goingthru”. It’s my heart’s desire to make it and hear him say - well done. Matt. 25:21. Don’t you want to make it, too? In order to hear “well done” we have to do well. We should live by every word of God so others won’t have an occasion to stumble. Rom. 14:21 That we do to offend, or cause another to get his eyes on the wrong side of life, we’ll be held responsible. We are our brother’s keeper. Gen. 4:9 Let’s lend a hand to help someone carry their load; let someone know you care about the hurt they feel to day; spread some love along the way; call their name in prayer. Prayer is the key to the Kingdom; Faith unlocks the door. Gal. 6:2, James 5:16. We are thankful for a good assortment of supplies and some donations for Falcon Children’s Home. % 16 )ic 9(( 4c Mrs. Nellie Fillingame celebrated her 76th Birthday, Saturday, November 20.
