Jenkins of Dover. WILLIAM E. BUTLER MARION. S.C.-Will- iam Edgar Butler, 71, died Saturday. Funeral was held Monday, November 22nd., at Marion First United Methodist Church. Wtst Cravtn HIghllghto, Novambar 25,1982, Paga 7 Woman’s Auxiliary Honors Senior Citizens By alma drake The Woman’s Auxili ary of the Vanceboro Pentecostal Holiness Church honored their Senior Citizens Saturday afternoon, November 20, 1982, in The Rev. Dave Fulcher Fellowship Hall. Our Superintendent, Mr. Lee Waters, was Master of Ceremonies for the evening. He wel comed each one. Mrs. Jeannette Boyd led the congregation in singing, “Love Lifted Me.” Mr. Waters took prayer requests and the prayer was led by Mrs. Ruth Morris. He introduced our guest speaker. Sister Lera Mantyla. Sister Mantyla began by telling a personal witty story. Her scripture was Psalm: 78. She spoke on how God can furnish a table in the wilderness. She stressed how God took care of His children in the Bible days and how He still takes care of His own. She ended by saying as David, I have been young and now am old and I have never seen the righteous forsaken or His children begging bread. Rev. Frank R. Moore gave the blessing on the food and the occasion. The Hostesses for the evening were: Mrs. Jeannette Boyd, Mrs. Pauline Waters, Mrs. Dot Casey, Mrs. Joyce Toler and Mrs. Peggy Evans. The waitresses were: Miss Sherry Evans, Miss Lynda Evans, Miss Marcia Casey and Miss Frankie Moore. They served a delicious dinner of turkey, dress ing and gravy, potato salad, collards, sweet potato fluff, rolls and tea. The desserts were Lemon pie and chocolate cake. The tables were adorned with white linen and iace cloths, with cedar branches in the center of the table with two gold lighted candid^ yellow mums and white chrysanthemums. Everyone enjoyed a comedy skit called “The Tubbers”, featuring Mrs. Joyce Toler, Mrs. Pauline Waters, Mrs. Jeannette Boyd, Mrs. Dot Casey and Mrs. Peggy Evans.
