All seed do not come up at the same time. If we want results we do not plant and forget about them while going our way. If the season is dry the seed needs some moisture, if the ground is cold they need protection from the cold, such as hot caps or a covering. Last but not least, we have to wait and hope. Things we say and deeds we do are seed in the life of others, and ours too. If we want to see the good seed spring forth in the life of others and ourself, we must live so the warmth of God’s love will reach out to keep that seed warm and alive, the spirit of God gives it moisture so it will germinate. Watch and pray in hope knowing that with the faith of Grod all things are possible. Read I Cor. 3:6 - Matt. 19:26,26:41,1 Th. 6:17,26, James 6:16. By DOROTHY FILLINGAME The good news from the Word of God for this week comes from Galations 6:1, II Tim. 4:9-11 and I John 2:16-17. You’ll see as you read these scriptures, that Paul tells the Christians that once they have repented of their sins and accepted Jesus Christ as their savior, not to be entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Sin is the yoke of bondage. He tells us to stand fast in the liberty Christ has given us. Paul gives us an example in II Tim. 4:9-11. He tells Timothy to come to him soon, for Demas had forsaken him, having loved this present world. Demas is mentioned_by Paul two years earlier as one of his fellow laborers. Now he has been caught back up into bondage again. This is happening to a lot of Christian people today. John warns us not to love the world, neither the things of the world. He tells us that if we love these things, then the love of the Father is not in us. He tells us that the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life is of the world and not of our Father. We should examine our lives daily and make sure we as Christians are not guilty of these three things. They cover a lot. These will draw us away from our Father. The world and all it’s pleasures or lust will all pass away one day, but all who does the will of God will abide forever. SINGING Quentin Mills and Deliverance, a Gospel Singing Group, will be at the West Vanceboro Church of God Sunday, May 1. The church will have regular morning services, then dinner will be served in the fellowship hall. Singing will be held during the afternoon. Vanceboro Christian Church News The Vanceboro Christian Church is planning “Family Night” this Sunday, May 1st, at 6:00 at which time all are asked to bring a supper of such as sandwiches, potato chips, pickles and all pick up foods. Each family is asked to engage in a talent of their Choice. There will be a surprise by the Minister, Rev. Bennett. All are wondering if he is going to sing or play the guitar. He says for us to come see. He urges all the members to take pairt in this once-a-year event and that if one’s family is snyall or on vacation, they can unite with another family or friend and present a talent. A good cook could read us a new menu. A good reader could read us a poem. Maybe there is an artist to paint us a picture. Remember Sunday night at 6:00. Come on out. Web says if you can’t sing, just whistle.—Etheleene Butler. Life’s Lessons Continued from page 2 asked Mrs. Harris what good Marco Polo would ever do me, and she said education gave you satisfaction; but I had rather be ignorant and have fun, than be educated and have satisfaction”. Ted Williams climbed to the top of the water tank soon after it was completed—maybe others climbed it that I didn't know about—but later years—I learned of two girls who were dared to climb it. “You are afraid to do it”. Helen Duguid and Mildred Smith couldn't take the dare. They started climbing, afraid to look down, they reached the top, looked down and saw Mr. Homewood coming toward the tank. They expected him to blow his top; instead he said very calmly, “Girls, come down”. When they were down he said gruffly, “Go to my room”—then, he blew his top. Children will be children.
