Homemade Candles R«b« Mitchell Homemade candy has a special place for the holidays. It makes welcome gifts, and is always a special treat for parties, and when friends drop in. Here is a recipe that was a grand prize winner a few years ago, that I have tested in my kitchen also. Peanut Butter Balls 1 1/2 cups of crunchy peanut butter-2 sticks of butter or margarine—1 1/2 cups of graham cracker crumbs (about 22 crackers finely crushed)—1 lb. pkg. confectioner sugar—1/2 block of paraffin—12 oz. chocolate morsels. In a large sauce pan, combine peanut butter and butter. Stir over low heat until smooth and melted. Stir until well blended. Then form into balls. Melt paraffin and chocolate in top of double boiler. Dip ball in chocolate turning with a fork. Place on waxed paper to dry. You may dip the peanut butter balls in caramel if you like. 1-14 oz. pkg of caramels—1/4 cup butter or margarine—1/4 cup evaporated milk. Combine and melt in small saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Allow to stand until cool and thick. Dip peanut butter balls. Popcorn Nibblers 1/4 cup sugar—1/4 cup light corn syrup—1/2 cup peanut butter- -2 cups popcorn popped—1/2 cup chopped roasted peanuts. In a medium saucepan stir together sugar and corn syrup. Cook and stir over medium heat until the sugar is melted.
