”''*'1901 a 1 Pag* 10, West Craven Highlights, May 1, 1986 Craven Parker Hannifin Conducts Traffic Safety Poster Contest Corporation Four Craven County youth entered the 1986 Traffic Safety Poster Contest. The purpose of the contest is to increase traffic safety consciousness of North Carolina youth 9-12 years old. Youth could submit posters on bicycle safety, pedestrian safety, automotive safety, safety belt usage, motorcycle safety or school bus safety. Posters were on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. The Craven County winning poster was submitted by Shannon Barrick of Havelock. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Smith. Her poster has been sent to A&T State University for State competi tion. Each county participant gets a safety belt game and the county winner will recei:ve a bicycle decal and maintenance kit. The first place winner on the State level will receive a three speed bicycle and the 2nd through the 4th place winners will receive combina tion locks. CLEVELAND, OHIO, April 14, 1986—Parker Hannifin Corporation (PH-NYSE) today acquired Finite Filter Company, Incorporated, of Oxford, Michigan, a manufact urer of air and gas filtration products. Finite’s sales for 1985 exceeded $5 million. The acquisition was made for cash. Finite products, which are distributed nationally, include advanced coalescing separa tors and filters developed to protect pneumatic systems from contamination by oil, water and solid particles. Finite will become a division of Parker’s Fluidpower Group. Group President James P. Mockler said, "This acquisition augments Parker’s broad line of pneumatic, hydraulic, and diesel fuel filtration products and will permit Parker to expand into a growing segment of the filter business."
